Advanced Features for Better Medical Care

Each mobile clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. These air-conditioned vehicles function as moving mini-operating theaters and can perform essential diagnostics and treatments on the spot. More importantly, they provide medicines directly to patients’ homes, focusing especially on those suffering from cancer, hepatitis, and cardiac diseases. Patients can even receive up to two months’ worth of medication delivered to their doorsteps, saving them long and costly trips to hospitals.

Impressive Impact and Reach

Since the launch of the program, over 10 million people have already benefited from these mobile clinics. On average, around 45,000 patients receive daily treatment through this initiative. The program is designed to cover both urban centers and far-flung rural areas, reaching communities that previously had limited or no access to healthcare services. The ultimate goal is to serve at least 4 million people across the province.

Government’s Commitment to Free Healthcare

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made it clear that her government is fully dedicated to providing free healthcare to everyone, without any discrimination. To support this vision, the Punjab government has allocated Rs. 100 billion to ensure free medicines are available in all government hospitals. Alongside mobile clinics, improvements are also being made in major hospitals like Mayo Hospital, which now offers enhanced treatment facilities.

These centers will provide advanced heart care, further strengthening the healthcare infrastructure across Punjab.

Honoring Past Leaders, Building a Healthier Future

Maryam Nawaz Sharif acknowledged the significant contributions of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in developing Punjab’s health sector. She emphasized that her government is now working hard to lay a strong foundation for a comprehensive healthcare system accessible to all residents of Punjab.

Conclusion

The inauguration of Phase 2 of the Clinics on Wheels project is a clear sign of Punjab’s commitment to transforming healthcare delivery.
